The Josh Hartnett Renaissance: All His Recent and Upcoming Projects
Josh Hartnett has captured hearts since the late 1990s, and while he was away for a while, he returned to the Hollywood spotlight with impressive ease. This pointed out his already impressive talent, and after starring in hits like Black Mirror and Oppenheimer, he’s once again going to shine in M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller Trap. But how did all this happen so fast?
From Stardom to Breakdowns
Josh Hartnett gained recognition in the horror genre with movies like Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, The Faculty, and The Virgin Suicides. After that he appeared in 40 Daysand 40 Nights and Here on Earth, which were romantic comedies. His career then reached new heights with blockbuster successes like Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down.
While Josh Hartnett wasn’t done, he was certainly ready to give it all a rest. He starred in Lucky Number Slevin in the mid-2000s and, despite a flourishing career, took a step back from Hollywood. After almost a decade, he returned as Ethan Chandler in Penny Dreadful.
Hartnett’s Return to the Big Screen
It wasn’t long before he revealed in an interview that fame was taking a toll on his mental health so he took a break first and returned to smaller projects that gave him more family time. He managed to build a family with his wife Tamsin Egerton during his break and the two share four children. He focused on fatherhood and found the balance he needed by taking roles that didn’t require long absences.
Josh Hartnett had a spectacular comeback to the big and small screen. He had an appearance in Black Mirror and a role in season three of The Bear, and also returned to the big screen with a role in Oppenheimer, which won Best Picture and several other Oscars. Next month, audiences will be able to enjoy his latest performance as a deranged father in M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller Trap.
