Bringing a child into the world is both an exciting and frightening time in the life of any parent. Our concern for our young ones begins from conception and never really ends. This is especially true if the precious baby is born prematurely, which was the case with Matt Mac’s baby boy. However, the story ended happily and, to celebrate, Mac took a very memorable photoshoot of his pride and joy!
An Early Start

Ryan, Matt Mac’s son, was born nine weeks ahead of term. Upon birth, he only weighed three pounds. The baby had to spend the first six weeks of his life in a neonatal intensive care unit and all his parents could do was wait patiently by his side. Their optimism and hope didn’t waver as they jokingly said that their son was not premature but advanced. Luckily, Ryan pulled through and they took their healthy baby boy home.
A Manly Photoshoot

When the couple was saying that their child was advanced and not premature, Matt got an idea for a hilarious photoshoot. He dressed his son up in several different outfits and made pictures of him doing very manly and advanced activities. The images ranged from playing a poker game with characters from Sesame Street to fixing a car, fishing, lifting weights, and even chopping firewood. Of course, the baby was perfectly safe at all times as the scenes were staged and photoshopped.
The Process of Making the Images

According to Matt Mac, each picture took around 20 minutes to set up and shoot. Once all the props and backgrounds were set up, he or his wife would hold Ryan in the shot while the other took the picture. From that point onward, a lot of photoshopping was involved in the creation of what is now an amazing collection of images!
