Fans all around the world are getting excited for the release of season six, and with good reason. Sources say that the new season will consist of cinematically and visually stunning episodes, bringing fresh new content for fans to relish.

Creators Questioned Filming More Black Mirror

Charlie Brooker, the creator of the series, was wondering whether or not the viewers were interested in seeing more. Back in 2020, Brooker had an interview with Radio Times during which he questioned whether there will be further installments of the show. As the showrunner explained, he was busy with other projects, revisiting his comic skillset. At the time, he commented that he was unsure how much people would enjoy watching stories about societies falling apart, which is why he was taking a break from this series.

An Unaffiliated Ad Raised False Hope

The same year that Brooker gave an interview casting doubt on the return of the series, an advertisement went viral in Spain. Made by Brother Ad School, an agency in Madrid, the ad was a photoshopped image depicting a mirror on a bus stop. The writing on the mirror mentioned the sixth season of Black Mirror saying that it’s live now, everywhere. Netflix later said that the ad in question had no connection to the streaming service or the show.

Expectations for Season 6 Are High

The dystopian sci-fi drama has captivated audiences since 2011, through five impressive seasons that seemed to eerily predict certain aspects of the future. Black Mirror explores the dangers of technological and scientific advancements and will return to do so again in season six soon, although an official release date hasn’t been given. It’s rumored that season six will have more episodes than season five and that each episode will be treated as an individual film.
